Here Comes the Light: Fear of Enlightening

In my last post I suggested you ask the question, “Do I really want to do this?” Being in the Dark has its gifts. I call this journey into the Light, Enlightening, because, at least for me, it is a journey, not a destination. And a bumpy one at that. 

As I have suggested in previous posts, the Divine is always seeking us. Many have suggested ways to achieve this connection. Some practices seem quite daunting and time consuming. Some require you shut down the ego or the monkey mind to make the connection. This procedure is quite the challenge and many fail. The ego just wants to do its job.

Perhaps a more organic, relational approach might be a beginning. Paying attention to your PSEs might be more doable. I have suggested some subtle ways PSEs occur and many are related in the stories posted on this site. But let’s reflect on reasons why we may not want to take the first step.
